- Services for Children with Special Needs
JCS provides service coordination, advocacy and counseling to children with special needs and their parents. JCS offers educational workshops for parents of children with special needs, from birth to 21 years of age, on topics such as stress reduction, behavior management, resource sharing and family issues. “Sibshops” for children who have siblings with disabilities are sponsored by JCS in conjunction with Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital and Abilities Network.

- P.E.R.T Center - Psychological and Educational Resources and Testing
Professional evaluation services to families with children and adolescents experiencing educational, behavioral or emotional difficulties. Services include psycho-educational testing to help parents understand a child’s special needs and develop plans to resolve problems.

- Jewish Big Brother Big Sister Program
Jewish children and teens in need of mentoring are paired in one-on-one community-based matches with Jewish adult volunteers. Children ranging in age from 7 to 17 and are eligible based on several criteria.

- Services for Adults with Special Needs
JCS provides service coordination and counseling to adults with special needs who live in their own homes or with family. Services include assistance with independent living skills, tutoring, special equipment, advocacy and assistance with planning for the future.

- Residential Programs for Adults - Tikvah Homes
JCS residences enable adults with physical or developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible and participate fully in community life. Two or three adults share professionally staffed homes (Alternative Living Units) in the Northwest Baltimore community.

- Service Coordination
JSC professionals help individuals and families identify and assess needs, determine their eligibility for benefits, and access community services. Care management addresses needs in the areas of health, housing, finances, government services, home safety, services for caregivers, and more.

- Career Services
JCS provides comprehensive career counseling, vocational rehabilitation and job placement for individuals in the Baltimore community.

- Legal Services
Jewish Legal Services is a community-based, walk-in clinic affiliated with Jewish Community Services. Volunteer community lawyers offer legal information, advice, and referral services for individuals with limited income. Advice on a variety of legal issues is available, including consumer/bankruptcy, landlord-tenant, family, and immigration questions. Hours are the second Monday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at JCS, 5750 Park Heights Avenue in Baltimore. For more information and dates of upcoming clinics, please call 410-843-7305.
